Each FloodBreak floodgate is custom-designed to meet the specific flood protection needs of our customers. Increasingly, we’re collaborating with project teams on large-scale flood defenses like the Rawhide Wash project above. We designed our floodgates to improve the natural drainage path of a flash-flood system in Arizona while allowing the daily life of residents to continue uninterrupted. Additionally, we’re making big strides with the Sandy Resiliency projects in Lower Manhattan. But as we grow, we remain committed to the smaller installations that have been the foundation of our business for over 20 years. Below are highlights from recent installations.
Lock 9 Park, Pique, OH
(8’ x 3’ 7” | 12’ x 3’ 1”) Two FloodBreak flood barriers provide passive flood protection as part of improvements that connect a historic but underutilized space with Piqua’s downtown district. The project is helping spur the local economy and quality of life.
Carboline R&D Facility: St. Louis, MO
(6’ 6” x 3’ | 16’ x 7’ 6” | 8’ 4 x 3’ | 10’ 6” x 3’) The Carboline facility has experienced multiple flood events due to failure of active measures previously installed. Integrating FloodBreak passive floodgates is 24/7 protection. No People, No Power.
Peach Tree Grove Villas: North Hollywood, CA
(24’ 6” x 2’ 7” | 3’ 6” x 2’) With our partner FloodProofing.com, we provided our automatic floodgates as passive protection for vulnerable openings for this multifamily property located in North Hollywood.
Souder Avenue Trail: Colombus, OH
(14′ 4″ x 6′ 4″) This FloodBreak floodgate is in a USACE levee near a trail bridge installation, ensuring resilient protection and giving residents full access through the floodwall while maintaining 24/7 flood protection.
