FloodBreak revolutionized flood control by introducing the only fully passive flood barrier to customers back in 2001. Ending 2023 successfully with a flood save in Abu Dhabi, UAE at Sheikh Khalifa Hospital, our innovative spirit has continued to 2024. We have gained new customers, entered new territory, and created new applications in the flood industry.
We’re off to a strong start for 2024 and continue to present new solutions to both old and new flood threats. As the changing climate continues to drive sea level rise, Coastal Resiliency is a growing concern for communities with exposure to oceanic and/or riverine flood threats. FloodBreak has become a leader and innovator in this space, with 2024 due to see us begin the installation of major Coastal Resiliency projects including the Brooklyn Bridge – Montgomery & Battery Park City Projects in lower Manhattan. Fabrication is underway with expected installation to begin in the Summer and run through 2025.
Recent Save: The Eau Palm Beach Resort is vulnerable to flash flooding and installed a 67’ long passive flood barrier on Sept. 30, 2023. As expected, a king tide caused deployment, with no flood damage to the resort. The flood barrier only rises as high or low as needed based on how the water level rises. Every automatic deployment is a win for FloodBreak and our clients.
Recent Save: Last year, Khalifa Hospital in Abu Dhabi, UAE installed two FloodBreak gates at vehicular entrances to prevent flooding. These gates are fully passive and automatic, but also are equipped with our optional hydraulic lift to provide quick & easy deployment for emergency preparedness.
